Extended Description
BLACK Duncan. Bombardier, 1085, Argyll Mountain Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, died 28th September 1915. Born at Lismore and Apin Oban, Argyll, Scotland.
Some notes form his army record. He joined up as Private 1085, Reserve Force, Argyll Mountain Battery on the 29th March 1909 aged 17 years and 8 months. He was living with his parents, William and Ann at 4, Glenchillach Terrace, Oban, Scotland and later his father( in 1920) was living at Dunard Cottage, Ballachilish, Argyllshire.
He served with the reserves completing his Annual Training from the 12th June 1909 to 29th March 1914 as Gunner. Embodied service from the 5th August 1914 and promoted to Bombardier on the 4th December 1914. He embarked Avonmouth with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 17th March 1915 and died of Dysentery in Malta on the 28th September 1915.

LEESON William. Private, 2369, C Coy, 1/4th Northamptonshire Regiment. Died of his wounds, 27th September 1915, aged 19 years. He was the only son of William and Elizabeth Leeson, of 17 College Avenue, Leicester.

MARSH William. Private, 20747, 4th, Worcestershire Regiment, died 27th September 1915, aged 43 years. He was the son of John and Martha Marsh, of West Smethwick, Staffordshire. The husband of Rebecca Marsh, of 1 Back, 93 Parsonage Street, Oldbury, Worcestershire.
