Douglas Morris Henry HARRIS A.B., R.N.V.R.
The heroic wireless operator who continued to record messages in the log of the shell torn Drifter, Floandi until killed by enemy gun fire. Adriatic Sea May 15th 1917.
(CWGC) Able Seaman, Wireless Operator BZ/9359, H.M.Drifter, Floandi, Royal Naval (V.R.) Mentioned in Despatches. killed in action on the sea 15th May 1917 aged 19. He was the the son of Leopold Edward and Mabel of Winsmore Lodge, St Albans Road, Watford. He was born at Penn, Wolverhampton. He is at rest in Taranto Town Cemetery, Extension, (British portion) Italy.
