Doris Ena SENIOR

Extended Description: Doris Ena SENIOR. Nursing Sister 260544 QAIMNSR.
Daughter of George H. White and Eliza White, of Barnby Don, Yorkshire.
Killed at sea on the 12th February 1944 aged 27 whilst on the SS Khedive Ismail. The ship departed on the 6 February 1944 from Kilindini Harbour at Mombasa, Kenya to Colombo, Ceylon in Convoy KR-8. It was attacked and sunk by two torpedoes fired from a B1 type Japanese submarine in the Indian Ocean, 1,297 perished. Commemorated on the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial, Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey.

Doris Ena Senior of 9 Council Estate, Top Road, Barnby, Dun, Doncaster. Died on date stated on war service. Her effects went to Eliza White, wife of George Henry White.
Commemorated on the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial, Surrey
