David Niven

David Niven - British Army
Extended Description
A graduate of Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1930, David Niven served as an officer in the Highland Light Infantry for three years.

When WWII broke out he traveled to England from Hollywood and returned to service. First with the Rifle Brigade and then joining the Commandos as A Squadron commander in GHQ Liaison Regiment. "Phantom".

He also made multiple films for the war effort and assisted in setting up an entertainment radio station for the troops. He separated from service after the war as a lieutenant-colonel.

Probably one of very few actors from his generation that was in a special operations role. Although of course a great many served.

Fun fact, at one point Peters Ustinov was his batman.
