David Caird LAWSON. Gunner. Number 4 Company, Royal Garrison Artillery. Born 1880 in the Born 1880 at Baniff, Scotland, occupation tailor enlisted 14th May 1901. Brother of Alexander, Robert, Elizabeth, Jane, Jemima and Mary. He was found drowned at Tigne Point 1st October 1906 aged 25 years and 4 months. He had been missing since 28th September 1906 and wasfound in the evening of 1st October 1906. Seems he was sitting on a rock and a big wave washed him into the sea. His siblings, Alexander, Elizabeth, Jane, Jemima and Mary were all granted a gratuity 7th November 1906. His last sibling Robert was granted his gratuity on the 27th April 1910. His memorial erected in affectionate remembrance by the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Gunners of his company.
