Daisy Winifred FINCH, nee Richards. VAD Women's Medical Auxiliary Service. Born 1895 in Devonport, Devon to James Marks (Carpenter 148181 Royal Navy) and Elizabeth Kate Richards, nee Miles.

1901 residing with her parents at 39 St John Street, Devonport. 1911 with her mother (father on ship) at 47 Amherst Road, Plymouth, occupation aged 16, apprentice assistant.

Married 1925 in Devonport to John Colin Finch. 30 September 1930 she and her husband embarked London bound for Shanghai. Last address in England was 86 Argyle Road, West Ealing.

He was a civilian internee in Changi Camp where he died 14 April 1943 of coronary thrombosis.

She was killed at sea on the sinking of S.S. Kuala 14 February 1942 aged 48.
