Notice the woman has a "shuffle stick". A slight person could carry a disproportionate amount of weight with one. There was a trick to hitting the right gait and striding ahead when the stick was on the "up bounce."
At Cam Lo, few natives were allowed inside the perimeter, but one girl had permission to carry away garbage left over from the mess tent - I think it was fed to pigs in the ville.
One of the guys - a strapping, strong fellow - was bet by her (can't recall how much) he couldn't carry the same weight as her from the mess tent to the front gate. He lost the bet & I doubt she weighed 90 pounds with rocks in her pockets.
