D653 LESLIE WOGAN. Aircraftman 1st Class 564901 Royal Air Force. Killed 15 February 1935, Singapore III (K3595), in charge of No.210 Squadron, being delivered to No.205 Squadron

On the morning of 15th February 1935, a Royal Air Force Flying Boat, K.3595, left Naples for the Calafrana RAF Base in Malta, en route from England to Singapore, but at about 11.15 a.m. due to fog it crashed into a hillside near Messina, Sicily, and burst into flames.

At rest in Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta Plot D Grave 653.
