D635 CHARLES NERNE RUNICLES. Chief Petty Officer Writer P/M34998 Royal Navy on HMS Cornwall. Born 22 July 1901 at Beckenham, Kent, baptised 1 September 1901 at Maidstone, Kent, parents Charles Henry and Daisy Runicles, nee Porter. In 1911 he was residing with his grandparent William Manley and Sophia Rinicles, nee Gibson at 12 Dean Road, Whitton, Hounslow, Middlesex. Enlisted 8 September 1919 on HMS Victory III as Writer 3rd Class, civilian occupation, railway clerk. Died in Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta 20th November 1933 aged 32 years of pulmonary tuberculosis and pyopneumothorax.

At rest in Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta Plot D Grave 635.

His father served in the Hampshire Regiment as Private 31954. Demobilised 21 June 1919.
