D557 Frederick John GARLINGE. Leading Stoker K21049, HMS Sandhurst. Born 18 September 1895 at Sheerness, Kent to Thomas and Sarah Ann Garlinge, nee Martin. 1911 residing with his parents and siblings at Belmont Lodge, Minster in Sheppey, Kent. Enlisted 13 October 1927 on HMS Pembroke II, occupation prior to enlistment builders labourer. Died 26th November 1927 aged 32 years at Royal Naval Hospital Malta of an abscess to his left chest wall and left lung base. His mother was informed of his death 28 November 1927.
