D518 Arthur William WILLIAMS. Able Seaman J21611 Royal Navy on HMS Queen Elizabeth. Born 13 November 1895 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Enlisted 11 December 1912 as Boy 2nd Class. Occupation prior to enlistment errand boy. In November 1922 whilst serving on HMS Vivid 1 he was wounded in the right side of his chest when the ship was fired on by Irish irregulars. Died 6th February 1925 aged 29 years at the Royal Naval Hospital, Malta of peritonsillar abscess cellulitis of the neck, septicaemia thrombosis of lateral sinus, heart failure under anaesthesia. His widow was informed of his death on the 10 February 1925.
At rest in Plot D Grave 518 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
