D504 Victor Matthews PALMER. Able Seaman J93436 Royal Navy on HMS Emperor of India. Born 15 June 1903 at 109 Oak Street Lancashire to Harry and Margaret Ann Palmer nee Ball. Occupation prior to enlistment, turner. Enlisted 20 November 1918 as Boy 2nd class. Died 9th May 1924 aged 21 years at Royal Naval Hospital, Malta from a fractured base of skull and pontine haemorrhage. His mother was informed of his death 10th May 1924. His father served 52 day in the Royal Artillery as Private 92091. Enlisted 26 August 1914.
