Enlisted 13 February 1918 as Boy Class 2 J85575 on HMS Ganges II, promoted to Ordinary Signalman 19 June 1919 transferred as Acting Stoker SS/124832 26 June 1919. Died 4th February 1921 at Royal Naval Hospital, Malta of enteric fever and cardiac failure. His father of 14 Jameson Street, Nottinghill Gate, London W.11 was informed of his death.
