D410 Joseph HARDY, Able Seaman, J/41148, HMS Caesar. Born 29 May 1899 at Matlock, Derbyshire, occupation, lead dresser. Enlisted as Boy class II 9 June 1915 at the aged of 18 engaged for the period of 12 years on the 29 May 1917 as Ordinary Seaman, promoted the Able Seaman 10 September 1917. Died 18th October 1918, in Bighi Royal Naval Hospital aged 19 years from Influenza and bronchopneumonia. Son of George A. and Eliza Hardy, of Ivy Lane, Elton, Matlock, Derbyshire.
At rest in Plot D Grave 410 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
