D406 Arthur Samuel SHAW, Armourer’s Crew, M/25427, HMS Caesar. Born 23 February 1893 at Derby to Arthur Samuel and Emma Shaw. 1911 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 39 Byron Street, Derby, Derbyshire. His occupation aged 18 years, fitter’s apprentice. Enlisted into the Navy 12 March 1917 on HMS Vivid II and then HMS Caesar. Died 16th October 1918 aged 25, in Bighi Royal Naval Hospital of influenza broncho pneumonia. His mother Emma Shaw of 2 Inglewood Grove, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester.
At rest in Plot D Grave 406 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
