GREEN Cyril George. Armourer’s Mate, M/5081 Royal Navy on HMS Asphodel. Born 7 July 1893 at Birkenhead Cheshire to Thomas Alfred and Matilda Tallock. In 1911 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 23 Garrick Street, Liverpool. Enlisted 23 October 1912 on HMS Vivid II occupation prior to enlistment brass turner. Died 2nd April 1918 aged 21 when a gun explodeded on board his ship whilst at sea during firing practice. His wife Sarah Ann of 83 Smithdowne Road Liverpool was informed of his death. At rest in Plot C Grave 369 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
