On May 14, 1956 pilot, Jack Langin set off on a training flight. A slight mistake caused him to touch the surface of the sea. The engine stalled and he attempted a water landing the landing was successful . He was recovered and had to lie about his low level flight error or his career would have been done. He told the authorities that he had an engine failure.
