COOKE Charles Taylor

COOKE, Charles Taylor 7th Cheshire Regiment killed in action in the battle of Sulva Bay, Turkey on the 10th August 1915 and was buried there aged 33
He lived at Crossfield House, Over, Cheshire with his parents John Henry and Martha and brother of Charles Taylor who also fell. He is commemorated on a family memorial in St Chad's churchyard, Over, Cheshire and also on the Helles Memorial, Turkey and Gallipoli.
Extract from the London Gazette dated 24th November 1908 page 8704. 7th Battalion, The Cheshire Regiment; the undermentioned officers from the 3rd Volunteer Force are appointed to the battalion with rank and precedence as in the Volunteer Force dated 1st April 1908:- Captain John Kemp Cook, Lieutenant Charles Taylor Cooke and two others
