Conrad John OWEN. Lieutenant-Colonel, 3rd Bombay Light Cavalry. Born 11th August 1808 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to Elizabeth Susanna nee Travers and Henry Butts Owen. Husband of Stephana Mary Hawkins. 1851 he was residing with his wife and children at Shotover House, Shotover, Oxfordshire. Occupation, Major in Cavalry. Died in Malta 3rd April 1860 aged 51 years.

The Will of Conrad John Owen late of Bombay in the East Indies Esquire a Lieutenant Colonel in the 3rd Regiment of Bombay Light Cavalry deceased who died 3 April 1860 of the Island of Malta was proved at the Principal Registry 20 October 1864 by the oath of Henry Blois Turner of Holton Hall near Halesworth in the County of Suffolk Esquire one of the Executors.

London Gazette dated 22 March 1859 -

Her Majesty has also been graciously pleased to make and ordain a Special Statute of the said Most Honourable Order, authorising the following appointments to the said Order:
To be an Extra Member of the Military Division of the Second Class, or Knights Commander
Lieutenant-Colonel Conrad John Owen, 3rd Regiment of Bombay Light Cavalry and many others.
