Some of these photographs were barely larger than a thumb nail, not worth taking a
second look at so some may be a tad blurry I can`t tell since everything looks blurry
to me anyways. My point is if one decides to do a story or an article on say the Germam Army and wants to add a pic because it looks good don`t use a thumbnail
size, there are folks out there who would like to see details and i`m not just talking
to the modelers out there but to everyone, not worth putting on at that size!
Yes I have noticed a reduction in the uploaded size of a large file but does that also
mean an automatic enlargement of small files with adjustments for clarity? I
remember being part of a modelling site out of the UK and he had this function,it did
work really well, every pic was as clear as a bell no matter what size and they were all the same set size.
No mate that would be difficult to do, if we enlarged a small image size the result would be a pixelated image and of little use to the viewer. We reduce the size down to a reasonable 800 pixels wide.
This image was not affected due to it already being within the 800 px
thats a good size, its the size I mostly use, they print out nice as well,by the way
the webmaster of the other site I used to be part of was a computer programer!
The only way I can imagine a smaller image being made larger without distortion would be to convert the image from a raster image to a vector image. Of course I am speaking about the automatic functions of this website and others, it is easily done manually and then the image re uploaded
However there are many people out there much smarter than me
it`s all well and good the way everyone is doing it now,I just have a pet peeve about
a pic being posted that is between 2ookb and 700kb as the main sizes,I say to the
people who think they are really doing something great for a site by posting pics
at 200kb by 300kb,forget it,I started posting pics around 600kb and quickly realized
that they were not big enough.
