Civil War battles returned to Kennekuk Cove County Park,Danville Illinois in the fall of 2006, after an abscence of over twenty years. The battle of Pea Ridge was reenacted at our local County park's historical village whose buildings date back to the cival war era. It was a cold and rainy two day event. Inspite of a few showers it was great time had by all, and the South won this time. A surprise I hadn't counted on was a night battle followed by a artillery night shoot.They load the cannons with various pyro technics and this is the result in my photo.
