Typhoon Cavitating

Cavitating is the term used when (in this case) a submarine bends on power to the propellers. The propellers turn faster digging into the water creating bubbles and "holes" in the water. Also, creating mechanical transient sounds. It is this cavitation that makes the submarine vulnerable to sonar - thus negating its usefulness. Here tho' the vessel is moving out from its base - very shallow water - no problems with detection. Hope that helps
