- David John COOPER. Flight Sergeant 574409, Royal Air Force. Central Flying School, stationed at RAF Little Rissington, Gloucestershire. Born 11 February 1923, died 2 March 1955 aged 32. He was crew along with Fly Officer Anthony Robert Wardell flying in a Meteor T.7 WH200 over Broadwell Airfield when the aircraft went into a spin during an instructional sortie of asymmetric (Single engine) flying after the air brakes were left out. The plane spun into the ground killing both crew members.
