The imposing brick building served formerly as a barracks for two battalions of the traditional Hannoverschen infantry-regiment no. 77. The large block infantry-barracks that was Built 1873. These barracks were one of the largest military units in the German empire. at that time
This picture was taken where RHQ stood - those blasted trees were still there when I was - if you look to the far left hand side of the building and then up to the second floor, the double windows, that was my room in 1989! I shared with a great bloke who had the first window in his room, mine was the second window - great pic and brings back memories, thanks DP!
