Conway was an attempt to up-gun the Centurion with a 120mm gun mounted in a high turret. Other attempts to up-gun the Centurion to 183mm were tried, firstly using a limited traverse mounting (no turret) and secondly using a lightly armoured fully traversable turret.
The exhibit of the above FV 4005, Stage II at Bovington is an inaccurate one. Although the turret and gun are correct, the hull is a Mk8 hull, instead of a Mk3 hull. It is missing the spade and ancillary attachments, still has the barrel lock from the Centurion, and is missing the barrel crutch mechanism on the front glacis plate. The rear deck is also different on the Mk8.
