Private 514556, Claude Raymond BAVERSTOCK, 47th Canadian Infantry. Son of Oscar and Lillian Baverstock. Died 12th February 1919 at Kinmel Park Camp of Influenza, Bronchial Pneumonia.

He enlisted at London, Ontario to No. 2 Overseas A.S.C. Training Depot in The Expeditionary Force of Canada 6 July 1917. Occupation, Chauffeur, date of Birth 25 July 1895. He was actually born in 1901. This meant he was 16 years old when he enlisted. His medical form describes him as being 5ft 5ins, dark complexion, blue eyes and dark brown hair.
The Military Authorities discovered that he had lied about his age and they insisted his father sign a declaration of his true age on 28 August 1918 when he had already served for twelve months.
