To the memory of the following Non Commissioned Officers and Men from Chesterfield who fell in action or died of wounds or
disease in South Africa during the campaign 0f 1899-1902

1st Battalion, Sherwood Foresters

GIBBONS W Private 3988, killed in action 30th September 1901
GREGORY W Private 5335, died of Peritonitis 10th February 1901
JESSUP W Private 4245, died of wounds, 6th June 1901

2nd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters
MARGERSON P Lance Corporal, died of Peritonitis 2nd September 1901
BINGHAM W Private 5034, reported dead, 31st March 1902
GOODLAD B Private 7378, died of Enteric 22nd June 1900
TURNER T Private 6347, killed in action 12th February 1902
