PICKERING Charles Leigh, Lieutenant 6th Cheshire Regiment attached to the 30th Squadron Royal Flying Corps, He was killed in aerial combat at Samarrah, Mesopotamia on the 15th April 1917 aged 22. (Wills and Admin, Ancestry) He lived at Bramley, Knutsford and died from wounds received in action. His effects went to Robert Leigh Pickering, merchant. He was the son of Robert Leigh Pickering of Bramley, Knutsford. He is commemorated on his parents memorial at Knutsford Cemetery, and he is at rest in North Gate War Cemetery, Baghdad, Iraq.
