JOHNSON, Charles Edwin. Signaller Sergeant Instructor 27950, 18th Welsh Regiment was killed in action at Croix Du Bac, Steenwerck, Nord France on the 9th April 1918 aged 20. He was the son of Levi and Mary of 18, Brunswick Square, Macclesfield. "Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. He is commemorated on a family memorial at Macclesfield Cemetery, Cheshire and he is at rest in Croix-Dr-Bac British Cemetery, Steerwerck, Nord France.
