Reported missing on the Somme 1 July 1916 aged 31 and whose name is inscribed on the Thiepval Ridge Memorial, France. His father was granted a war gratuity 12 September 1917 revised 28 August 1919.

Commemorated on his parent’s headstone in Southern Cemetery, Manchester, Lancashire.
