Private 9948 Fred CHADWICK, 1st Cheshire Regt, killed in action in France 6 September 1916, 29 He was the son of Charles and Betsy of 86 Canal Street, Congleton. Commemorated on a family memorial in St Peter's extended churchyard, Congleton, Cheshire and also on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. (The CWGC have his death on the 3rd September 1916)
