On the 11th February 1950 he, aged 48 and his wife Ursula aged 43, embarked from Liverpool bound for America. His profession, company director. They both returned disembarking at Southampton on the 28th March 1950. His profession, export manufacturer.
Their son Mark Julian Cecil Tress born in 1936 was called up for National Service. He joined the Coldstream Guards. London Gazette dated 21st June 1955. Regular Army, National Service List. The undermentioned Cadets to be 2nd Lieutenants He was Cadet 23063097 on his commission changed to 44113.
