Carcano used in Palestine

Star of David shows use by Jewish settlers

Reactions: Bombardier
While the war raged on in Europe, Nazi agents incited Arabs to eliminate Jewish settlers in what was then Palestine. British forces had captured quantities of weapons and ammunition from the Italian army in N Africa. Some of that supply was sent to Palestine for use by Jewish Settlement Police, or "Supernumerary Police" to fight the Arabs.
I have also seen Webley revolvers with the Star of David.

These are very scarce - this is the only one I ever saw for sale.

I shoot the 10.4 caliber Vetterlis and Italian service revolvers regularly - the Carcanos not so much. I bought most of the Carcanos for knowledge. When I began collecting them, there was almost nothing in print. I watched closely and tried to buy examples I had never seen before. Eventually, I had enough accumulated to write a book on the topic. The topic is so broad, there's actually room for another book which will begin when the publisher finishes his current projects. I've a lot of information relating to Italian arms use in the Spanish Civil war. I could carry on all day about that but don't wish to bore people. Long story short, for me, *learning* is as much fun as shooting.

But shooting is still a lot of fun!:D
