C262 WILLIAM LEONARD SMITH. Leading Seaman, Clyde 1/1993, Royal Navy (V.R). Anson Battalion, Royal Naval Division. Born 28 December 1891 at Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire to Thomas and Ellen Smith nee Cracknell, of 71 Princes Street, Govan, Glasgow. 1891 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 114 Oak Street, Burton-upon-Trent. Died 21st July 1915 aged 24 at Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta of enteric fever. His father was informed of his death.

At rest in Plot C Grave 262 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
