Extended Description
Private 49457 Harry BURSLAM, 10th Cheshire Regiment. Their beloved son of Robert and Emma who passed out of sight by way of the path of duty in France 9 October 1916, 29. He is commemorated on a family memorial at St Peter's extended churchyard Congleton, Cheshire and also on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France

He enlisted on the 11th March 1916, gave his age as 29, Occupation, Insurance Agent, address, 15, Howey Lane, Congleton and his mother Emma as next of kin. He Joined as Private 4400, No4 Infantry Base Depot and later on was posted to the 10th Cheshire Regiment with a new regimental number as 49457. He embarked Southampton 7th September 1916, Disembarked Rouen, France on the 8th September, and was reported as missing in action on the 9th October 1916, confirmed as killed in action the same day
