ARCHER-SHEE George, Lieutenant, 3rd South Staffordshire Regiment died 31st October 1914 aged 19. Studied at Stonyhurst College and Royal Naval College, Osborne. Was the subject of Terence Rattigan's play "The Winslow Boy". Commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium

BARNIDGE John, Lieutenant, 21st Manchester Regiment, died 26th October 1917 aged 33. Son of William and Jane Barnidge; husband of Margaret Barnidge, of 7, Kensington Park, Stapelton Rd., Bristol. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

BELL Bertie Joseph, Stoker 1st Class SS/109325, H.M.S. Indefatigable died 8th March 1915 aged 25. Son of James and Sarah Bell, of Bristol; husband of Jane Elizabeth Ogborne (formerly Bell), of Conham Hill, Hanham, Bristol. Buried at Arnos Vale Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bristol

BELL Harold Stormont, 2nd Lieutenant, B Coy, 2/8th Worcestershire Regiment died 2nd December 1917 aged 28. Son of Edith Rhoda Bell, of 55, Linden Rd., Westbury Park, Bristol, and the late Rev. John Stormont Bell. Commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louverval, France

BIDDER Arthur Henry, Private, 16575, 8th Royal Fusiliers, died 9th April 1916 aged 21. Son of William Henry and Susan Ann of Coffinswell, Newton Abbot. Buried at Vermelles British Cemetery, France

BOWDITCH Robert. New information has been supplied which suggests the he was Merchant Seaman on S S Sappho and was interred in Ruhleben Prisoner of War Camp between Spandau and Charlottenburg, Berlin at the outbreak of the war. He died whilst interred aged 57 on the 22nd November 1914. There is no record with the CWGC for this person

DALY John Francis, Gunner 832008, C Battery, 306 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, killed in action 16th August 1917 and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. Birth registered 1898 as John Henry Daly in Bedminster, nr Bristol. He was the son of John and Ellen who in 1911 were living at 61, Dove Street, Kingsdown, Bristol. He is named as John Henry DALEY. The CWGC have his surname as DALEY, his medal card has the correct surname
