She may have nursed at the Military Hospital at Portsdown Hill

Born 2 April 1875 at Tullogher, Curragh Lane, Tullogher, County Kilkenny, Irelando Michael and Margaret Donovan, nee Litchfield.

England 1901 census. Hospital nurse at Infirmary at Mile End, Old town, Bancroft Road, London, N.E.

Died at Fareham Hampshire of cerebrospinal fever on her birthday 3 April 1916 aged 40 years. At rest in Christ Church Military Cemetery, Portsdown, Hampshire.

Also commemorated on the Kilkenny World War Memorial.

Nursing Sister’s Funeral.
Military Honours at Cosham.
The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon at Christ Church, Portsdown Hill of sister B. Donovan who was taken ill of Sunday last and died on Monday. Deceased was held in very high esteem at the hospital and was accorded full military honours.
The remains were enclosed in a polished oak coffin, with heavy brass fittings covered with the Union Jack, surmounted by a floral cross from her mother and was borne by six sergeants of the R.A.M.C. to the gun carriage.
