He served as Captain in the Ancient British Fencible Regiment during the Irish Rebellion and was dangerpusly wounded June 4th 1798. He was afterwards Lieutenant Colonel of the Whitchurch Volunteers till disbanded in 1814. Born 8 June 1771 died 24th April 1856. This memorial is in St Alkmund the parish church of Whitchurch, Shropshire
