BOSTON Harold

Extended Description
Private 291818, Harold BOSTON, 1/7th Royal Welsh Fusiliers, formerly Private 4207, South Lancashire Regiment and Private 4917 7th Cheshire Regiment and killed in action at Gaza, Palestine, 26 March 1917, aged 22. He was the son of Samuel and Rose Selina of 70, Rood Hill, Congleton. Notes from his Short Service Record. Attested 10th December 1915 aged 20yrs and 7 months occupation Grocer. He gave his mother as next of kin. Prior to attestment he was with the 7th Cheshire Regiment but on his record they had entered 4207 12 St Lancs Regt. He transferred to the 1/7th Royal Welsh Fusiliers on the 1st July 1916. He served with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force 1916-1917 Commemorated on his parents memorial in St Peters extended churchyard, Congleton, Cheshire and is buried in Gaza War Cemetery.
