In grate full memory of the men from this parish who died for their country in the Great War.

This tablet is erected and the Chapel furnished and dedicated A.D. 1924

Lance Sergeant 13575, John Leonard NUTTALL, 12th Welsh Regiment (Information from his medal card. He committed suicide whilst temporary insane) on the 25th June 1916 aged 34, He was the son of the late Henry Nuttall and Mary Jane Brereton (formerly Nuttall), of St. Asaph Lodge, Bodelwyddan. Born at Maidstone, Kent. He is at rest in St Margaret Churchyard, Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire Wales

Private 2577 Frank Sydney BECKETT, 2/8th Sherwood Foresters, died 5th March 1915 aged 21. He was the son of George Horner and Sarah Ann of Kinmel Park Gardens, Abergele, Denbighshire. He is buried at St George Churchyard, Cegidog or Llansantsior, Denbighshire

he joined up at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on the 21st March 1914 aged 21 years and 8 months, occupation, builders assistant. He died at 2-15 on the 5th March 1915 at the eastern General Hospita, Cambridge of Pneumonia.

Rifleman (The Reverend) R/23951, Edward Rupert Menlow JENKINS MENLOVE, 2nd King's Royal Rifle Corps died 9th September 1916. He resided at Tycelyn, Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire, and was the son Reverend John I and Mrs Lucy Mary. In 1911 his widowed father was living at Hirant Pettorz, Oswestry, Shropshire as the vicar of that parish He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France

Private 11394, Robert SPICER, 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Died 16th May 1915 aged 22. He was the son of Mrs Sarah Ann Spicer of 1, River View, Penrhewl, St Asaph, Denbighshire and brother of Robert who also fell. and brother of John who also fell. He is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France

Private 27222 John SPICER, 8th Welsh Regiment died 8th August 1915 aged 19. He was the son of Mrs Sarah Ann Spicer of 1, River View, Penrhewl, St Asaph, Denbighshire and brother of Robert who also fell.
and brother of Robert who also fell. He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey.
On the 16th June 1915 their brother, Frederick William aged 14yrs and 6 months enlisted at Kinmel Park Camp as Boy 31734, 12th Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He gave his brother, John as his next of Kin. The short time he was in the army he had one charge against him. 3rd January 1916, he was absent on parade at 8-15am. He was confined to barracks for 3 days. The 27th January 1916 he was discharged from the army in consequence of having been irregularly enlisted.

Able Seaman, R/3439 Lewis Andrew WILLIAMS, Nelson Battalion, Royal Naval Division, Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, killed in action (in the field) on the 4th January 1918 aged 20. He was the son of John and Harriet of 2, Crossfoxes terrace, Glasgoed, St Asaph, Denbighshire. he was born at Llandudno. He is buried at Flesquieres Hill British Cemetery, Nord France.

3rd Officer Harold Ernest WILLIAMS, Passenger/Cargo Steam Ship, Avoceta (Liverpool) Merchant Navy died at sea on the 25th September 1941 aged 34. He is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London The ship was sunk by commander Kap/Lt Johan Mohr on U-Boat U124 north of the Azores with the loss of 123 soles.

Sergeant Pilot 950358, Leonard Henry TICKNER, Royal Air Force died 23rd December 1941 aged 26. He was the son of Leonard Percival and Hettie nee Jones of Worthing. His mother was born at Ruthin and his father was a chauffer at Bryn Mair Llanfair, Ruthin. He is buried at Durrington Cemetery, Worthing, Sussex. he was flying a Blenheim N6166 near Sutton on Forest, Yorkshire when it flew into the ground. It appears that he was on an exercise when the incident happened.

Lance Corporal 7925028, Edward Cernyw JONES, 42nd Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps attached to the 23rd London Regiment killed in action on the 28th January 1944. He was the son of Edward and Gwladys O of Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire. He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt
