The postie's bike brings back a childhood memory. When I was going to school, about 5 miles away, when my bike was out of action I had to walk, no matter what the weather was. I lived out in the country. But, if I was lucky and the post woman had finished her run and was returning back to Berkeleyshe would give me a lift by letting me sit on the front of the bike in the mail carrier. the mail carrier was nothing glamour, it was just a frame with a large canvas bag across it....most uncomfortable but it saved a long walk!!
