Bert Edmond ASHBY Trooper C5245, 11th Armed. Regiment, (The Ontario Regiment) Royal Canadian Army. Born on the 25th March 1917 to William John and Margaret Ashby husband of Mavis Ashby, of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Accidentally killed when a comrade showing how to slope arms threw a loaded rifle up and a cartridge in the chamber was fired accidentally and the bullet entered the his neck under the chin and came out at the back of his head killing him instantly on the 24th July 1943 aged 26 on board Empire Nerissa en-route for Gallipoli. His body was put ashore in Malta. P1/R1/G13. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta.

William THARBY. Fusilier 3457439,11th Lancashire Fusiliers. Died 11th August 1943. P1/R1/G13. Born in London. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta.

Charles Henry DIETSCHWEILER Gunner C/380, Gunner, 2nd Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. Born on the 8th July 1910 at Chicago, Illinois, United States to Charles Henry and Isabella Dietschweiler, husband of Rita May , nee Perrin, of Prescott, Ontario, Canada. Born in Chicago. Died of wounds 12th August 1943 aged 23. P1/R1/G13. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta.
