BORRELL Bernard. 2nd Corporal, 76269, Airline Section, Royal Engineers, formerly 9346 Royal Engineers. died 24th September 1915. Born at Stockport, Cheshire and enlisted at Glasgow, Scotland.
Some notes from what remains of his army record.
He enlisted on the 18th September 1914 as Sapper 9346 and was living at 69, Queen Street, Glasgow. He was by occupation a skilled instrument maker. His next of kin was his father, Seymour of 161 Westminster Street, Crew. His mother was called Amelia Elizabeth, nee Bowley. On the 11th January 1915 he was discharged on re-enlistment as Corporal 76269 into the regular army. Paragraph 144 Territorial Force Regulations. He enlisted at Glasgow on the 31st January 1915, aged 29 years and 3 months and he was lodging at 208 New City Road, Glasgow, and embarked on the 4th July1915 He died in hospital in Malta of Enteric Fever (Typhoid) on the 24th September 1915.


McCLUNE Henry Alexander . Rifleman, 8937, 6th, Royal Irish Rifles, died 27th September 1915, aged 18 years. The son of William and Margaret McClune, of Lodge Riddel Hall, Stranmills Road, Belfast, Ireland.

CRAPPER Charles. Sergeant, 969, 14th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Died of dysentery, 27th September 1915, aged 46 years. The son of the late John and Elizabeth Crapper. Born in Tandara, Victoria, Australia.
