Private John Henry BENNETT, South Staffordshire Regiment, died May 12th 1919, 44, husband of Charlotte.

Burnt Record has been found which may be his.
Private 4451, 2nd South Staffordshire Regiment.
At the time of enlistment 29th December 1894, he gave his age as 19, a labourer, residing with his father John at 27, Green Lane, Birchills, Walsall. He was serving with the 3rd Staffordshire Militia. On a memo dated 2nd December 1910 it stated that he had enlisted under the name of John Henry which was incorrect. His birth certificate showed he was named Henry. There are no other records that show him serving in the Great War .
