BELL, Herbert

BELL, Herbert, Chief Engineer, Royal Navy drowned July 29th 1918 aged 23.
He was the son of John and Ann of Mill Gate, Thirsk and brother of Jack who also fell. His occupation in 1911 was a Cycle and Motor Repairers Apprentice to his father who was a Cycle and Master Agent and repairer. CWGC have Chief Motor Mechanic, MB/776, on H.M.Motor Lighter, 154 Motor Boat Reserve, Royal Naval (VR) died 29th July 1918. He is commemorated on his parent memorial in Thirsk Cemetery, Yorkshire and is at rest in Dean's Grange Cemetery, Black Rock Dublin, Ireland
