BAYLEY Thomas Wellington

BAYLEY Thomas Wellington Private M/28974 Mechanical Transport, Royal Army Service Corps died 29th June 1920 aged 27. He was the son of Thomas Hill and Ada Louisa of Noah's Ark Hotel, Hartshille, Stoke on Trent. In 1911 he was stationed at Barrosa Barracks, Stanhope Lines, Aldershot, Surrey.He was born in Wellington, Shropshire. His father in 1901 was stationed in South Africa as Instructor Master Sergeant and in 1911 he father had remarried in 1905 to Elizabeth Jane and now living at the Alms Inn. He is at rest in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cemetery, Staffordshire. Some notes from what remains of his army record He joined up 28th June 1910 at Aldershot, gave his home address as the Alms Inn, 70,George Street, Newcastle under Lyme. On the 10th September 1913 he was living at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, Stoke on Trent. He was mobilised for war at Aldershot on the 6th August 1914 Served in France. Demobilised to D Section, Surplus to military requirements on the 5th March 1919 to his home , the Alms Inn, George Street, Newcastle under Lyme. When he left the army he had a disability. Mental deficiency aggravated by war service. There is no record as to the cause of his death.
