Private 22302 Arthur BALL, 7th Border Regiment died of wounds, in France 3 April 1918, 23. He was the son and only child of Arthur and Maria nee Moorewood of Congleton, Cheshire
Commemorated on a memorial along with Pte Edward Hugh Moorewood in St Stephen's Churchyard, Congleton, Cheshire and is buried in Doullens Cemetery, France
Day by day oh how we miss them, no one on earth can tell but in heaven we hope to meet them where
they never say farewell.
Some notes from his Army record
He attested in Blackburn on the 23rd July 1915 and he joined up at Carlisle 24th July 1915. He gave his age as 20yrs and 11 months and address of 37, Thomas Street, Congleton He was posted to France on the 17th December 1915. On the 3rd April 1918 whilst serving with the 7th Battalion he died of wounds in the 3rd Canadian Hospital, Doullens, France
