Extended Description
WORTON Arthur., Private, 25594, 1st Garrison Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, formerly 37019, 2/5th South Staffordshire Regiment, died 15th January 1919. His widow Edith M was granted a war gratuity on the 30 December 1919, revised on the 26th January 1920.

STEEL Harry. Lance Corporal, 27595, 1st Garrison Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. He died of pneumonia on the 21st January 1919 at Military Hospital, St Andrews, Malta. He lived at Nelson Street, Dewsbury, Yorkshire, son of Alfred who was granted a war gratuity on the 26th August 1919. Born on the 3rd May 1893, baptised on the 6th August 1893 at Dewsbury Moor, Yorkshire. In 1911 he was living with his parents Alfred and Sarah, nee Dyson. at 26 Eightlands Road, Dewsbury, He was working in a rag warehouse.

EBDELL Richard James. Corporal, 54421, 28th Fortress Coy., Royal Engineers, died 30th January 1919.
Some notes from what remains of his army record. He enlisted at Doncaster on the 2nd March 1915 aged 28. Occupation Bank clerk and lived with his wife and child at 13, Queens Road, Wheatley, Doncaster. He was married on the 27th July 1909 to Mary Ellen Cornelius. Their daughter, Dorothy was bon at Doncaster on the 27th June 1913. His parents were Edmund Atkinson Ebdell and Anne, nee Peel and in 1911 were living at 8, Queens Road, Doncaster. On the 22nd July 1915 he was promoted to Corporal and was transferred from the Motor Cycle Coy to Fortress Coy. He served in France from the 14th September 1915 and then posted to Salonika in November 1915. On the 14th June 1916 he was admitted to No1, General Stationary Hospital, Salonika with diarrhoea and on the 29th June 1916 he was invalided to Malta were he was admitted into St George's Hospital with sever enteritis. He was discharged on the 28th June 1916 to Ghain Tufficha Army Camp, Malta awaiting passage. He was the posted to Malta Garrison on the 17th August 1916. He was posted to St Francis Barracks, Floriana, with the Haywharf Detachment. On the 14th September 1918 he was suddenly taken ill with severe dysentry and was admitted into Military Hospital, Imtarfa. He died at 0400 hours on the 30th January 1919 with peritonitis. He was laid to rest at 1600 hours the same day at Pieta Military Cemetery.
