Arthur STACEY. Master Gunner, Royal Artillery. Husband of Caroline Stacey who died at Malta 29th October 1878 aged 26 years. Sleep on dear husband and take thy rest. For God takes those whom he loves the best. Thy youthful days were sweet to me, but soon was I deprived of thee.
This stone was erected by his affectionate wife as a last token of respect.
STACEY, Arthur, 29 years, bachelor, from Gillingham, Dorsetshire, son of Charles and Rachel Stacey, Corporal, 12th Brigade, Royal Artillery, married on the 11th September 1877 at Malta, to miss Mary Caroline Lomax, aged 20. Born at Malta daughter of Thomas and Annie Lomax .
