Arthur James PHILLIPS

Arthur James PHILLIPS. Able Seaman 209906 Royal Navy on HMS Glory. Born 19th March 1883 at Sailsbury, Wiltshire (as stated on his naval records), baptised 30th April 1882 at St Martin Church, Sailsbury, Wiltshire, parents Arthur and Elizabeth Jane Phillips nee Griffin. In 1891 he was living with his parents and siblings at 12 East Street, Fisherton Anger, Salisbury. Enlisted 22nd May 1900, occupation prior to enlistment, porter. Died in a hospital in Malta 13th January 1909 aged 25 from disease of ears and septic pneumonia. His father was informed of his death 13th January 1909. At rest in Plot B Grave 169, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta (Unmarked burial)
